SJS motors are your local specialists for MOT’s. Our workshop is an authorised MOT test station with qualified technicians each with years of experience working with vehicles under their belts.
The MOT is an annual inspection required for any vehicle over three years from its date of registration. It is predominantly a visual inspection, covering a number of areas of the vehicles with a focus on the safety and emissions features.
Once the test is complete we will be able to advise on whether your vehicle has passed or failed and what work would be required to get your vehicle back on the road in the event of a fail. We never conduct MOT repair work without first providing you with a quotation and being given your authorisation to do so.
What is the MOT Test?
In the UK all vehicles over three years old that are used on the roads must undergo an MOT Test. This is an annual test of a vehicle’s safety, roadworthiness and exhaust emissions. Not having a valid MOT certificate may result in a £1000 Fine!
During an MOT Test, the examiner will check many areas of the vehicle, including bodywork, emissions and safety features. A few of the items that are checked are shown below:
